A long time.....

It has been a long time since I blogged. Bad blogger, I know!! I have been so busy over the last 3 weeks. I have had school work to finish up and I had a mishap with some of the jewelry that I made that I am not going to go into. Needless to say I had a loss of inspiration! I have created some more pieces and they are in my store. I have had a few customers ask me for some repeats. That makes me so happy! I feel like maybe I am getting somewhere and it has actually inspired me a little!! I have at least made enough to buy my ticket to get in Twicon and my plane fare. Which is no easy feat!

I also bought one of the bookmarks from the lady below, her name is Tena and she, lives in Forks, WA which is where Twilight is based. Her bookmarks are beautiful, from the picture you cant see their beauty!! Even better she has opened an Etsy store. www.theforksforest.etsy.com. You can buy these bookmarks in her store! I would suggest that if you are a Twilight fan then you should definitely get one or two and they are so cheap!

Fern bookmarks from Forks, WA

So I met this awesome lady from none other than Forks, WA (which is were Twilight is set). I made some earrings for her for a fundraiser that she is putting together for her grandsons. They are going to a football championship in Australia! How cool is that??

She came up with this great idea (well for Twilight fans!) and she has made bookmarks from ferns and foliage from Forks, this is so cool and I am sending her my money tomorrow! (and she only wants a $5 donation!!!) I wanted to share with you guys so that if you are a Twilight fan or know anyone who is, could you please send them her way? They really need to raise as much as possible and these bookmarks are awesome. Take a peek for your self.

So if you are interested in these awesome one of a kind bookmarks and have your own piece of Forks, please leave a comment with your email and I will email you the form that you have to fill out. All she is asking for is a $5.00 donation!

Thanks guys!

Stuff

Hey guys!

I am so thankful to have some followers, even though I am no good at this whole blogging thing!! Hey, at least I am trying! LOL!

I created some new earrings over the weekend that I wanted to share with you all.

These obviously are "Twilight" themed earrings! Someone on Etsy told me that they didn't see the resemblance and I was looking for critques but was taken aback a little because when you see these how can you not think Twilight?? I guess I just love the books so much that anytime I see red and apples together it reminds me of the books!

This next pair I just really love with my whole heart! I think they are so cool, I made myself a pair and wore them to church with a black dress and they looked just awesome with it.

They have gotten very little views on Etsy, but thats okay I haven't really promoted them!! This whole Etsy thing can be a little hard. I mean I love making jewelry but trying to sell it is tough!

Oh yeah one of my necklaces is being featured in a blog, sumpinelse (their link is on the right hand side of my page). She has a great blog and is featuring gifts for under $20 dollars. Check it out she has picked some great stuff to feature from Etsy stores!

New ideas

I have been trying to come up with some new ideas on my jewelry. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Twilight and that's where my inspiration really began for jewelry making. With so many of the Twilightmoms making these great items I kind of came to a (a writer calls it a writers block) so I guess a jewelry making block? These girls truly make some very unique jewelry/items, and I am not even in the same league. I was kind of wondering should I maybe just make other jewelry not related to Twilight because it seems that everyone is doing that right now. This morning, however, I came up with some of the coolest earrings and yes they are Twilight related. I can't wait to make some more and put them on Etsy.

I am going to feature some of my favorite pieces of my jewelry from time to time, and tonight I wanted to post pictures of this awesome choker. My idea came from the description of Edward's eyes and his varying hunger levels. It is so cool and features Czech glass beads, the darkest and biggest bead is in the center, with varying colors of amber on each side of this bead. It is actually a very light choker and looks really good on. When you wear it, it just kind of reminds you of Twilight all day, or least mine does that for me!

Tell me what you guys think about it? I have it in my Etsy store if you really like it, I think its one of the coolest pieces that I have!

Emma's project

So my middle girl is in Kindergarten and she had to design a mardi gras float out of a shoe box. She originally wanted to do a zoo float, but when we went shopping for the materials (thank God that we live in a Mardi Gras town) we saw all these masks. She decided that she wanted to do something with mask, so this is what we came up with....

Of course mommy had to help her out a little bit, she is only 5!! She did have to add her barbies like they were throwing out beads! It was a fun project, but I do tend to go overboard and probably bought way to much stuff for a Kindergarten classroom project!

Spirals

Okay so here is my newest piece. Please let me know what you think!

It is 14 inches long

I am very proud of it, I haven't made anything like this one before!

Me!

Oh gosh I just don't feel very good today. I have decided to combine this blog with my real life stuff too! So I just wanted to introduce myself formally. My name is Nicole. I am 29. I have 3 daughters ages 11, 5, and 2. My girls are the joy of my life along with my hubby! My hubby is in the Navy. Right now he is in the MCEP program, so he is going to school to get his BSN (nursing). It has definitely been a rough road because we have been going to school for gosh 8 years now!! How bad does that suck?? I am going for my education degree and have found an online school that is accredited. I am finally getting into my teaching classes and they are fun so far, but I just don't have the time to study very much. I stay up very, very late every night, so I am continually tired!! You will probably hear me say I am tired today!!

I read the Twilight saga a few months ago and am hopelessly addicted to it! I love it! My sister told me to read it and so glad that I did. I have a whole network of firends now that share this same interest. This is where the inspiration for my jewelry has come from. I am trying to branch out some but really haven't had any stand out ideas yet. I jsut read too that with this new law CPSIA I may drove out of business anyway! ACK! I just started! I love doing this, but can't afford to pay for testing on all my materials. I have emailed my senators for my state and we have until the 30th for them to hear our concerns, so maybe they will listen! One lady on Etsy has a bib for $1400 because after testing this is how much it will cost!! The testing cost $1385 dollars for fabrics and her bib only cost $15. I thought it was so cute because it is attracting a LOT of attention!

Discount in my store!

Hey guys if anyone is interested, if you would like anything out of my store just send me an email on www.msfroggie.etsy.com and mention my blog and I will offer you a 20% discount. I need this stuff moved out so I can add some more stuff!! I am trying to save for TwiCon in July-August, lol! Please help me out!!

Oh I forgot to post the pics of my new jewelry!! I know I procrastinate so much!! LOL...I will have it loaded on here in just a little while!

Here I am again!

I have a few new things that I have made that I really like. I just haven't taken their picture and put them on here. I am trying to decide if I want to stay with the Twilight theme or not. You know it's not really selling like I though it would. I don't know why?? Guess maybe because everyone is doing the same thing! I was thinking about branching out from it and doing some other stuff! I will post some more pictures of the stuff I did later on tonight. Only problem is they say to take your pics in natural light and it will be dark tonight. Oh well I can always retake the pictures tomorrow. Please post your thoughts to me if you have read this and have looked at my shop. Critque it if you will and let me know if you would or would not buy something. If so what is your favorite piece and if not why not? Are my prices to high? Not a fan of my work??

Okay well I will post those pics tonight!

Beginnings

This is my first time ever blogging, and I dont think I will be any good at it or funny! I just wanted to document my homemade jewelry and the journey that I am making by creating one of a kind pieces to sell. I used to make jewelry about 3 years ago, but never really did anything with it. When I read the Twilight series, it inspired me to start creating again. My Etsy shop is a homage to the Twilight Saga. However, I am going to be branching out a little and adding some more stuff to outside of Twilight. Nothing is really selling, and I keep buying more and more stuff! It is frustrating, but I love it!
